J. KENT PLANCK

J. KENT PLANCK
Self-taught artist J. Kent Planck grew up in an Illinois river town, got his Bachelor’s and Master’s from Northwestern University, and spent nearly 30 years in corporate life. After digging out an old box of oil paints and brushes given to him as a gift years before, Kent started painting in earnest after his move to Sanibel Island, Florida in 1999. Now a resident of Fort Lauderdale, he finds his inspiration for his art not only from Florida, but also from Cape Cod impressionist painters. His oil-on-canvas works are painted either au plein air or from photographs personally taken by him. His objective is to create lush oils that share the joy he has felt at special places, both at home and in his travels. He hopes to touch others with his interpretations. Kent has exhibited extensively in Florida including historic Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. His work has been juried into exhibitions of the Broward Art Guild, Cornell Museum, Coral Springs Center for the Arts, Bonnet House Impressions of Old South Florida and the Artists Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Art. His paintings are in collections throughout the United States.
